Kaiju is a fictional character originating from the 2013 science fiction action film, Pacific Rim. These monstrous creatures are not a single entity but a collective noun for colossal beasts emerging from an interdimensional portal located deep within the Pacific Ocean. They are bio-engineered weapons created by a mysterious alien race known as the Precursors with the intent of conquering Earth.

Each Kaiju possesses unique biological characteristics, powers, and classifications, with their threat level escalating as the film progresses. They range in size and strength, causing immense destruction to coastal cities worldwide. Their arrival marks the beginning of a global war between humanity and the Kaiju, forcing nations to unite and develop giant mecha-suits known as Jaegers to combat the threat.
